i) What to do in the event of a buildings claim:
Make sure that any damage caused is minimized and that the affected area is safe and habitable.
Make notes on the date, time and likely cause of the loss.
Please contact the claims line immediately to report the claim and receive specific advice from a specially trained claims advisor.

ii) What to do in the event of a contents claim:
If item(s) have been damaged or broken, please keep them in your possession, in case you are required to produce them at a later date.
If item(s) have been lost or stolen, note down the time, place and circumstances of loss.
Your claims handler may require you to produce receipts or proof of purchase if you still have this; so please check thoroughly for these documents in advance.
Contact the claims line immediately to report the nature of your loss and the events that lead to it. A specially trained claims handler will advise you of the procedure from here on and be able to offer advice to go forward.
