Flint Insurance has been trading since 1983, starting life as high street insurance brokers, first in Harrow and then Sidcup. As these high street brokers evolved and the business landscape changed it was a natural progression to combine them into our current site altogether in Orpington.
In response to market demands we opened a ‘motor fleet outpost’ in Chelmsford in 2011 to service our clients and underwriters in and around that locale.
Managed by two owner-directors, we are an independent insurance broker with around eighty staff. We have separate divisions for commercial insurance, motor fleets, motor trade, personal insurance and Flint Private Clients – our high value insurance team.
Flint Insurance has essentially grown from a family concern into a mid-sized, highly professional insurance organisation, albeit one that has thankfully managed to retain some old fashioned courtesy along the way.
As an independent insurance broker, not aligned to any particular provider, we work with many quality insurers and underwriters. Some are very well known UK and international brands and others only available through a broker. This gives us the flexibility to select the optimum cover for your needs, whilst comparing the market for the most cost effective insurance contract.
We work with all types and size of business, we’re not too big to help sole traders, but also with the expertise and professionalism to handle large, complex risks. We have very well established contacts throughout the insurance world, including large international brands and specialist syndicates within the Lloyd’s London insurance market.
We believe that insurance is still a people business and our emphasis, whether dealing with clients, insurer partners and staff is about treating people fairly. Naturally, as a commercial organisation we set out to make money, but it is done by putting our clients first
We continue to build on our 30+ years in insurance; rigorous staff training programmes ensure that our staff are trained to the highest technical standards, confident in providing advice on complex insurance issues. Their ability and expertise is meted out with respect to their colleagues, insurer partners and of course our clients.
We’ve invested heavily in our claims service, arguably the most important part of any insurance contract. We know that how we handle claims is incredibly important to our clients, especially because it’s usually happening at a time of difficulty and loss.
We are proud to say that, by and large, our staff, like our clients, stick with us, perhaps because they understand just how valued they are. It is our staff that continually help us provide excellent service to our growing and satisfied client base.
