An evening of Army Engagement

November 2, 2018

Flint Insurance was delighted to be one of a number of invitees to an evening reception at Bexleyheath Marriott with Major General BJ Bathurst CBE of the Army Engagement team.

The aim of the reception was to promote greater awareness and understanding of the Army. Major General Bathurst highlighted three focus areas for connecting with society:

  1. To raise business awareness with regard to employing Service Leavers, including the benefits of having Reservists working in our organisation;
  2. For those connected to youth and education to learn more about the Cadets and local Army-led projects involving young people;
  3. For the wider community –  to tell them what it means to be part of the Army today and how it is developing for the future.

The evening presented an opportunity for networking with other community leaders and representatives of the Regular and Reserve Army.

Mike Nightingale, manager of our Flint Private Client team, who went along with a few other Flint colleagues commented:

“This was a great evening; very informative with an interesting and diverse crowd.

“From our point of view, we’re always on the look out for good people with different skill sets to join our team and of course as a company relatively local to this area it’s crucial that we take every opportunity to put ourselves about and meet other businesses who want to hear about the Flint offering.

“It’s good to see the Army connecting with our community in this way and to remind us of what a vitally important job they do. Thanks to Major General Bathurst and his team.”
