It wasn’t quite the excitement of the World Cup, but there was energy, dedication and even a little bit a verve on display at the second Flint Internal Football Tournament.

Young and ‘older’ in four, 6-a-side teams representing Directors All-Stars, Commercial, Fleet and HNW / Marketing / Personal Lines all joined in to create a (thrilling) spectacle of team work and camaraderie.

The biggest shock of the evening came from Directors All-Stars who went from being last year’s champs to a disappointing fourth (last!) place. They claim they lost just to preserve company morale, but needless to say, we’re unconvinced. Fleet advanced a notch to finish in third, which left Commercial to fight it out with HNW/Marketing/Personal Lines. No losses made Commercial the overall winners achieving two victories and one draw. The Commercial team’s skill was unrivalled and they were very worthy winners.

Thanks to everyone who took part, particularly the players, but not forgetting our supporters and friends. Events such as this give us the chance to celebrate our love of the beautiful game, whilst having fun with colleagues – not forgetting the post match debrief that just happened to take place in the bar.

We must also extend our sincere gratitude to Coldharbour Leisure Centre who were our competition hosts.
